We are seeking a Retail Pricing Analyst to join our client’s growing Retail Energy Division. In this role, you’ll play a key part in accurately costing retail electricity for commercial and industrial clients, analyzing historical usage data, assessing market trends, and identifying strategic buying opportunities.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Retail Pricing and Supply and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to data-driven pricing strategies in dynamic energy markets across PJM, ISONE, NYISO, and ERCOT regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze energy usage patterns to support pricing strategies for commercial and industrial clients.
- Generate forecast models to predict future energy consumption and provide accurate pricing insights to sales teams.
- Collaborate on pricing and cost analysis for energy transactions across key regional markets.
- Support the development and upkeep of pricing models and forward price curves.
- Evaluate market risks, including price fluctuations and usage variability, to ensure effective risk management.
- Validate and manage the entry of transactions into internal systems.
- Contribute to improving operational tools and assist in testing and refining internal platforms.
- Provide market analysis on trends, pricing components, and risk factors to guide strategic decisions.
- Stay current with industry updates and regulatory changes to adapt strategies accordingly.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the energy industry (retail energy experience - LC&I).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Experience with SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- High level of attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think logically and solve complex problems.
- Capable of working effectively under tight deadlines and managing multiple assignments.
